Slovenian police have filed a criminal complaint against Prime Minister Robert Golob, confirmed by the specialized state prosecutor’s office.
Prime Minister Golob is accused of obstructing the work of the police, as reported by RTV Slovenia.
According to his cabinet, Prime Minister Golob will respond to the criminal complaint on Wednesday at 8:45 am in the National Assembly.
The complaint was filed by the police after nearly two years of pre-criminal proceedings, following the resignation of former Minister of Internal Affairs Tatjana Bobnar, who investigated her claims of Golob’s interference in police work.
– Politics should stay outside the door of the police chief – said Minister of Internal Affairs Tatjana Bobnar in December 2022, when she first publicly warned of what she considered unacceptable interference by the prime minister in the work of the police.
As minister, she informed the prosecutor’s office and the anti-corruption commission about the pressures on her and the then acting general director of the police, and then spoke more in detail about them before the parliamentary investigative commission.
