Crvena zvezda is on the lookout for Boban Marjanović if Jonathan Motley joins Real Madrid
The saga surrounding Jonathan Motley has been drawn out significantly. It is almost certain that we will not see him in the uniform of Israeli team Hapoel in the continuation of the season, and the main candidates for his signature are Crvena zvezda and Real Madrid.
Despite the fact that it seemed like the powerful center would strengthen the ranks of the Serbian champions, and the club president of Tel Aviv spoke about it on several occasions, accusing and threatening Zvezda in the process, it seems that this will not be the case and that he will move to the capital of Spain.
If such a scenario were to occur, the club from Mali Kalemegdan would turn to other options, one of which is a familiar face to the domestic audience, Boban Marjanović (36), as reported by Informer.
As we have learned, the deal between Real and Motley is awaiting official confirmation, which would finally put an end to the entire saga, allowing the red-and-whites to consider other options.
In that case, Zvezda will consider bringing „Bobi“ back to wear the beloved club’s jersey for the second time.
Marjanović came to Turkish team Fenerbahçe in September of this year after nine seasons in the NBA. In the EuroLeague this season, he averages 4.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and a performance index rating of 5.8.
The popular „Bobi“ was selected to the EuroLeague’s Best Five in 2015 and won a silver medal with the Serbian national team at the European Championship in 2017.
