Ešeli Stacy, a young African woman from Kenya, is thrilled with her stay in Serbia. In one of her TikTok videos, she emphasized how pleasantly surprised she is by the feeling of safety in Serbian cities, especially in Belgrade.
– One thing they lied to us about in movies is that Serbia is dangerous and not safe. Because now it’s night and I walk down the street absolutely without fear and no one touches me or anything similar. Also, I don’t feel unsafe or uncomfortable at all while filming myself walking down the street. There is absolutely no reason to be afraid. It’s pretty safe here. This is one of those cities where you can literally walk around as a woman and feel comfortable. So don’t believe everything they show us in movies. Belgrade is really one of the safest cities I’ve been to – said Ešeli.
In the next video, Ešeli revealed that from her point of view, Serbia is actually a country of flowers. She noticed that Serbs simply appreciate flowers and absolutely adore them.
– I noticed that they simply appreciate when they receive flowers and absolutely adore them. Of course, we in Kenya love flowers too but it’s not a must to have them in the house – unlike in Serbia where literally everyone has them. I love that! – she admitted.
Ešeli Stacy has won the sympathy of many people with her honest and positive impressions of Serbia. Her experiences are a breath of fresh air compared to the usual prejudices about this country and serve as an encouragement to promote the true face of Serbia around the world.
