Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was nominated by the newly elected American President Donald Trump as the Minister of Health in the new administration, will visit Romania next week to meet with right-wing candidate Kalin Georgescu, who won the first round of presidential elections in the country, reported the Romanian private television station Realitatea.
The television station stated that Kennedy Jr. will be visiting Bucharest to present his book on the coronavirus pandemic, with a foreword written by Georgescu, as reported by Reuters.
Kennedy Jr. is against vaccination. Realitatea TV is a media partner of the event in which Georgescu and Kennedy Jr. will participate, and the televised debate will be broadcast on December 5th.
Georgescu, to everyone’s surprise, won in the first round of presidential elections in Romania on Sunday, with the second round of elections scheduled for December 8th.
The opposition candidate Elena Lasconi also entered the second round. However, this election result was challenged by the Romanian Supreme Court, which ordered a recount of all votes.
The court will decide on Monday whether to annul the first round of presidential elections. Parliamentary elections will be held in Romania tomorrow.
