Biljana Šahrimanjan Obradović from the Center for Strategic Analysis stated today that based on the conversations she had in Washington and New York, she believes that the administration of the newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, will not change its policy towards Serbia and the Western Balkans, but will actively engage in efforts to help the region enter the EU.
„Speaking with their officials in various institutions, the most important in the world, I concluded that they are of the opinion that they will not change their policy towards Serbia and the Western Balkans and that they will actively engage in efforts for our region to enter the EU, regardless of who is at the helm of America,“ she said for Tanjug and added that the US is interested in the entire region integrating into the EU.
She believes that with the arrival of the 47th president in the White House, there will not be a thaw in relations between Russia and the US or the lifting of certain sanctions, as seen by the stance Trump had towards Russia in his first term.
