New national restaurant „Beogradska mehana“ opened in Skadarlija, the center of bohemian life and our main tourist attraction, offering live music and top-notch specialties. The restaurant officially opened its doors on May 13, aiming to bring back the old Belgrade spirit and the traditional flavors of the city.
„This used to be an urban hospitality venue, but now we have decided to adapt it to Skadarlija and bring back that old bohemian spirit. We strive for this tavern to embody the old Skadarlija and for guests to relax and enjoy delicious food, drinks, and a great atmosphere that is guaranteed!“ said Neđo, the owner of „Beogradska mehana“ and a well-known Belgrade caterer.
Live music is featured every day of the week, just like Skadarlija deserves, offering a complete experience with a pleasant ambiance, tasty food, quality drinks, and excellent music. The restaurant is well-known for its domestic brandies, wines, and cognacs, with affordable prices to cater to all guests.
The menu showcases traditional dishes and beverages, with house specialties such as mehana specials for two or four people, mehana cevapi, and the chef’s special pljeskavica. Dessert lovers can enjoy treats like pistachio cake, adding a sweet touch to the dining experience.
In addition to the culinary delights, guests can also enjoy a moment of history by reading an interesting excerpt from Belgrade’s past, diving into ancient times and uncovering the origins of the city’s first tavern and the never-ending story of Belgrade.
